Rachael Ray gives emotional tour of holiday décor in guest house 4 months after mansion burned down

Three-time Daytime Emmy winner Rachael Ray gave viewers a sneak peek at her Christmas décor in the guest house of her Lake Luzerne, NY property four months after her mansion burned down.

On Monday, the 52-year-old chef shared an emotional video of her ‘holiday tour of what we did this very very weird year to try to make it a little more festive around here.’

Aside from a small potted Cyprus tree, Rachael chose not to buy any full-sized trees ‘because no families are coming to visit.’

‘But we absolutely would not let the holidays come and go without some decoration,’ Ray noted.

The talk show host enlisted Finishing Touches Flowers in nearby Bolton Landing to help create garlands strung with twinkle lights, ribbons, and partridges for the windows and door frames.

‘It’s all about renewal,’ Rachael explained of her festive topiaries.

During the house fire, Ray managed to save a sentimental sculpture of a horse’s head, which she used as a centerpiece on one of the tables.

‘It’s exactly the same as one my mom had in our house when I was a little girl,’ the New York native explained.

‘I found it at a flea market. No kidding.’

Rachael had long twinkle lights resembling ‘falling snow’ hung in her screened-in back porch as well as pretty paper lanterns.

‘I’ve got to tell you, I don’t know where I’d be without friends and a community, and people so dear to me that helped me bring Christmas to life, even when you’re not at home,’ Ray said.

The 30 Minute Meals presenter added: ‘It’s not a lot but these partridges and pears and sugared fruits and things, they do make me feel at home and nostalgic and grateful for the family I have and the life I’ve led.’

Rachael and her husband of 15 years – lawyer and musician John M. Cusimano – have been living in the mini-version of her lakeside cabin since their main house burned down on August 9.

And while Ray was devastated to lose her six-burner gas stove and wood-fired pizza oven as well as John’s music studio, they were able to rescue their beloved dog Bella Boo Blue.

The couple had been living in the home 15 years when creosote spit out the top of their chimney and landed on the roof, which caused the catastrophic fire.

After a neighbor driving an ATV alerted them, 70 volunteer firefighters from 14 different departments were called in to control the blaze.

As their house gets rebuilt, the 5ft3in brunette will continue to film the Rachael Ray Show and Food Network segments from the kitchen of her guest house.
