Priyanka Chopra looks fierce in new images from the upcoming Robert Rodriguez family superhero film We Can Be Heroes

She led the action for three seasons on the hit crime drama TV series Quantico.

And now, actress Priyanka Chopra is gearing up for another heroic role, in Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming Netflix superhero film We Can Be Heroes.

In one of the movie’s first-look images published Thursday by Entertainment Weekly, Chopra, 38, looked fierce in a sleek brown bob and white wrap blouse.

Her piercing gaze at the camera was dramatic and severe.

We Can Be Heroes also stars Pedro Pascal of The Mandalorian fame, along with Christian Slater and Boyd Holbrook.    

Pascal figured in another one of the images on Thursday, looking earnest while wearing combat gear. Slater was visible in the background to his right.

The PG-rated fantasy film tells the story of a group of children of earth’s superheroes, who band together when their parents are kidnapped by hostile alien overlords.

Priyanka will play Ms. Gradenko, the Director of the Heroics, which is the name for the team of superheroes.

The film will also feature two famous characters from one of Rodriguez‘s previous movies, namely The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D from 2005.

In July, it was announced during a remote Collider Comic Con panel that director Rodriguez is returning to the world of those superhero characters in the new film. 

What’s more, the eponymous heroes, played back then by Twilight’s Taylor Lautner as well as Taylor Dooley, will be parents in the new film, sharing a Sharkboy-Lavagirl offspring who’s sure to have some interesting powers all her own. 

We Can Be Heroes will be available on the Netflix streaming platform starting on January 1, 2021.
