Princess Eugenie hails the Coronation concert a roaring success in sweet Instagram post

Princess Eugenie has hailed the Coronation Concert on Sunday evening as a ‘beautiful way to honour the King’s life of service’ in a touching Instagram post.

The mother-of-one, 33, posted photos on Instagram of herself and her older sister Princess Beatrice, 34, attending the Big Lunch at Chalfont St Giles in Buckinghamshire on Sunday and said they ‘had so much fun’ at the event. She also shared a sweet snap of herself with her sister and mother, the Duchess of York, and one with her husband Jack Brooksbank.

Eugenie, who is expecting her second child this summer, said: ‘It was amazing to see so many people celebrating and we are very grateful to have spent some time with children, fluffy puppies and so many well-wishers for The King and Queen.’

As she praised the Concert at Windsor Castle that evening, which saw acts including Take That, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie perform, she revealed the highlight for her was the ‘big whale’ featured, as she is a passionate advocate for saving the oceans.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughters attended the Coronation concert with their parents on Sunday evening – after the Duchess of York had been snubbed from the coronation invitation list.

Also joining the royals was Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi – while Eugenie’s son August, two, and Beatrice’s daughter Sienna, 18 months, missed out because they were too young.

Writing on Instagram and posting professional photos of herself and Beatrice at the Big Lunch in Buckinghamshire, Eugenie spoke about how they had enjoyed the event, before praising the coronation concert in the evening.

She wrote: ‘What a beautiful way to honour The King’s life of service. Of course my favourite part was seeing the big whale lit up in the sky.’

In personal photos taken later in the day, Eugenie beamed with Beatrice and Fergie in one snap where they basked in the late afternoon sunshine.

On Saturday, as the sisters attended King Charles’s coronation at Westminster Abbey, Eugenie had a sweet reunion with her cousin Prince Harry, 38, with whom she shares a close relationship.

Lip reader Jacqui Press revealed that Harry, whose fleeting visit to the UK lasted for 28 hours before he jetted back to California, marvelled over Eugenie’s baby bump upon arriving at Westminster Abbey.

According to Jacqui, he gestured towards her and said: ‘Look at th bump!’

He then sat down next to Eugenie and her wine-merchant husband, and was captured on camera having a long chat with Jack while they waited for the ceremony to begin.

Jacqui interpreted that Harry said to Jack: ‘That’s funny, mmm interesting’.

To an unknown question from Mr Brooksbank, Prince Harry said: ‘About quarter to 4?’

Mr Brooksbank then replied: ‘Oh really, when?’ to which the Duke responded: ‘I think tomorrow…’

At the time it was unclear what Harry was referring to, although minutes after the ceremony ended the Duke was spotted getting in a cab outside Westminster Abbey before arriving at Heathrow Airport less than an hour later.

The following day royals including Beatrice and Eugenie were out in force celebrating King Charles’s Coronation, with the sisters arriving in Buckinghamshire for an event.

Matt Eyre, a father who attended, shared his photos of the princesses with MailOnline, as they posed for photos with his children who have special needs.

Mr Eyre sld FEMAIL they ‘were amazing’ with his children Bobbi-May, 11, and Bertie, nine – who both looked thrilled to meet the royals.
