An urgent search is under way for a missing 14-year-old girl who was last seen leaving her home yesterday.

Habiba Khan was last spotted leaving her house in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, at around 2pm on Monday.

Hertfordshire Police have now launched an urgent appeal to the public and are calling on anyone with information to contact them.

In a statement the force said: ‘If you have seen Habiba since she was reported missing or have information about where she has been, please call Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101. 

‘If you believe you are with Habiba now or have seen her in the last few moments, please call 999 immediately.’ 

The schoolgirl is described as being Asian, 5ft 2ins tall, of slim build with long black hair. 

She was last seen wearing white trousers and a purple top.
