‘You come out and everyone goes in’: Piers Morgan leaves Phillip Schofield in hysterics with cheeky joke on GMB

He’s never been afraid to speak his mind.

And Piers Morgan playfully jibed with Phillip Schofield during Monday’s episode of Good Morning Britain.

The host, 54, cracked jokes with the star as they discussed the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent cancellation of ITV shows.

Hilarious: Piers Morgan playfully jibed with Phillip Schofield during Monday’s episode of Good Morning Britain as he appeared on the show with Holly Willoughby

Turning to Phil, who announced last month that he is gay, Piers quipped: ‘It’s weird for you, Phil – you come out and everyone goes in.’

Phil burst into laughter at the cheeky quip, with his co-host Holly Willoughby also unable to control her giggles.

The This Morning host, who shares two children with his wife of 27 years, emotionally revealed his sexuality in a lengthy social media post last month.

Phillip later revealed that he battled suicidal thoughts and even sought therapy on his sexuality, and added he was ‘naive’ to think he could suppress it when he married Stephanie in 1993.

Meanwhile, later on Good Morning Britain, Phillip turned the tables on Piers as he cut the host off.

After hearing a producer telling the GMB host to end the show, Phillip piped up: ‘We’re got your talkback – can you please wrap up!’

Last weekend, ITV revealed that they were axing Lorraine and Loose Women, whilst extending Good Morning Britain and This Morning.

GMB has now been extended until 10am, with the addition of Lorraine Kelly for the final hour, whilst Loose Women has been replaced by repeats.

Bosses confirmed that they have been reducing crew numbers over the last week with the next steps allowing them to strip team backs further, with ‘the aim of Daytime content continuing to air for as long as possible’.

Shows across the nation hang in the balance as the global crisis continues to worsen, with long-running soaps such as Coronation Street, EastEnders and Holby being suspended.

Coronavirus was classed a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) last week, leading countries such as Italy, Spain and China to implement nationwide lockdowns.

Sporting events, music festival and other social gatherings have been either cancelled or postponed due to the crisis.
