Pia Miller is criticised by fans for spruiking ice cream in sponsored Instagram posts

Pia Miller (née Loyola) hasn’t let the coronavirus pandemic get in the way of her successful career as an Instagram influencer.

Just days after she received criticism for promoting shampoo on her popular account, Pia returned to spruik yet another brand on Tuesday.

The former Home And Away actress, 36, defied her critics by sharing photos of herself looking glamorous as she ‘worked from home’ with a tub of Magnum ice cream.

‘A little tub of silver lining to working from home @magnum #MagnumLUXE #PleasureHasMoreThanOneLayer,’ the mother-of-two wrote.

Irked by her sponsored post, one fan commented: ‘These advertisement hashtags are getting ridiculous.’

‘Advertisement… how cheap,’ another wrote, while someone else added: ‘As if you eat this’.

On Friday, the former Bit Club actress told fans to unfollow her if they had a problem with her posts, just a day after she was criticised for sharing a sponsored selfie for Pantene shampoo.

‘I will continue to use this platform in coming days, weeks, months, foreseeable future to support and remain engaged with businesses and companies, big and small, that I feel so fortunate to still have a working relationship and/or association with,’ she wrote on Instagram.

‘If it is a bother to you, please feel free to unfollow. Stay safe,’ she added.

Pia’s defiant post came after she was slammed for promoting Pantene on Thursday.

After posting a glamorous selfie to plug the hair care brand, one furious fan commented: ‘People are dying but Pia’s hair looks nice – get real!’

Quick to hit back, Pia, explained that she was using her large platform on social media to support businesses amid the current economic downturn.

‘I am well aware of our heartbreaking and catastrophic global situation, it has been on my heart and mind every minute of every day,’ she responded.

‘Thank you for pointing that out. Businesses are also closing, people are losing jobs and our economy is rapidly declining,’ Pia continued.

‘I am fortunate to have the opportunity on this platform today to support the businesses that I believe in and work alongside during this difficult time.’
