Pettifleur Berenger reveals the reason why she isn’t returning to The Real Housewives of Melbourne

The Real Housewives of Melbourne is set to return this year with its long-awaited fifth season.

But fans were left reeling after it was announced that property developer, Pettifleur Berenger, wouldn’t be returning.

The 55-year-old told The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday that she will return to TV after she resolves a personal matter.

‘I am humbled by the disappointment of my fans that I am not returning to RHOM this season,’ she said.

‘However, I can promise them that I will be returning to TV when I have taken care of some very important issues that I can’t discuss right now for legal reasons.’

Pint-sized Pettifleur is one of the most controversial housewives to appear on the series over the years.

In the hit show, she accused fellow housewife Gamble Breaux of meeting her husband on a sugar daddy website.

She’s also feuded with Lydia Schiavello and memorably clashed with psychic Jackie Gillies who wouldn’t use her powers to find Pettifleur’s son’s misplaced birth certificate.

Tensions reached boiling point in season three when the outspoken socialite threw an iconic tantrum during a dinner in the middle of the desert in Dubai.

Earlier this week, Foxtel confirmed that Gina Liano, Janet Roach, Gamble and Lydia would all be back for season five of the series.

They will be joined by three brand new Housewives: former CNN news anchor Anjali Rao, yoga teacher Cherry Dipietrantonio and ‘Champagne educator’ Kyla Kirkpatrick.

The new season is set to begin filming in March and will air on Foxtel later this year.
