Peter Stefanovic enjoys ‘party for one’ as he celebrates 39th birthday in hotel quarantine

Peter Stefanovic has been forced to celebrate his 39th birthday in mandatory hotel quarantine following a recent trip to the United States.

The Sky News reporter revealed it was a party of one as he shared a photo to his Instagram account on Thursday.

‘Cupcake. Whiskey. Party of one,’ he wrote underneath a photo of him smiling while he celebrated his special day.

‘Thanks to my beautiful Sylvia Jeffreys and our son for still making my birthday in quarantine super special. See you soon,’ he continued.

Peter’s post comes just hours after his wife Sylvia posted a sweet video to Instagram of Peter embracing their nine-month-old son, Oscar, and wrote in the caption: ‘Happy birthday to my one. Miss you like crazy.’ 

She continued: ‘But enjoy the gift of uninterrupted hotel quarantine sleep because you won’t be getting much of that this time next year. Love you.’

In the accompanying video, Oscar giggled as his father embraced and kissed him.

Peter’s mother, Jenny Stefanovic, also shared a throwback photo to Instagram of the reporter as a young child, alongside his older brother Karl. 

‘Happy Birthday, Pete. Like father, like son,’ she captioned the photo, referring to the family resemblance between Peter and Oscar.

‘The apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree. Have a great day. Love you, mum.’

Peter flew to Washington D.C. last month to cover the presidential election for Sky News Australia. 

Before travelling to America, Peter and Sylvia had announced they were expecting their second child together. 

‘Oscar’s little brother due in April next year. We are so lucky,’ Sylvia wrote on Instagram, tagging her husband.

The couple welcomed their son, Oscar, in February.
