Peter Andre shares stunning glimpse of wedding to Emily MacDonagh to mark their fifth anniversary

Peter Andre has shared a stunning glimpse of his wedding to Emily MacDonagh on their fifth anniversary despite critics saying the relationship would not last.

The pop star, 47, took to Instagram to share a series of videos to celebrate his marriage to the 30-year-old NHS doctor on Saturday.  

In a series of unseen clips from their wedding video, the newlyweds could be seen sharing an emotional embrace and letting their hair down on the dance floor. 

Emily looked breathtakingly stunning in a floor-length lace dress with Peter in a traditional three-piece suit.

Peter, who wed Emily at Mamhead House in Exeter in 2015, shared his thoughts on the magical memories and wrote: ‘You’re funny, kind, intelligent and stunning. Happy 5th wedding Anniversary Emily.’

The couple had planned to mark the milestone with a romantic return to Santorini, Greece, where they had honeymooned.

But due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown they have been forced to stay at home.   

Critics had originally said the relationship would not last because of the 17-year age gap but Peter and Emily, who now have two children together – Amelia, six, and Theo, three – have proved them wrong.  

The union is very different to that Peter shared with ex-wife Katie Price. The pair, who share son Junior, 15, and daughter Princess, 13, called time on their marriage after three years.

It comes after Emily joked that she ‘never’ wants husband Peter to return to work as she has enjoyed spending more time with him in lockdown.

Speaking about their marriage with The Sun on Friday, she claimed there were times she felt like ‘a single parent’ because the singer was away so often because of his profession.

She explained: ‘I don’t want him to go back to work, ever! 

‘There’s been a lot of times since we’ve been together that I feel like a single parent. 

‘When Millie was a newborn — she was probably six weeks old — I was a new mum and really young, and he was away ­filming 60 Minute ­Makeover.’

Emily admitted she struggled when the pair first moved to Surrey but has since built a ‘support network’ for when he’s away, though she said it was ‘nice’ for him to be around during lockdown.

Emily and Peter also discussed keeping their children out of the spotlight, as the Mysterious Girl hitmaker said he respected her desire to not show their faces on social media or on TV.

‘Millie has already asked me why her face can’t be shown on TV but I 100 per cent don’t think it’s the right thing to do,’ Emily admitted.

The doctor said she wouldn’t change her mind until the pair become teenagers, as she wanted them both to consider ‘the pros and cons’ of the internet before showing themselves.  

Junior and Princess have featured on reality TV shows since they were born, and so have shown their faces on social media.

The pop star recently admitted that his doctor wife has been ‘incredible’ at having the ‘uncomfortable’ chats with her step-children, but insisted that he’s ‘trying to get better at it.’ 

The father-of-four made the revelation while speaking on their YouTube reality show Life With The Andres.

Peter said: ‘When you’ve got four children of all different ages, it’s really important that you split time between everybody…I’m trying my best, and Emily of course does the same. 

‘She’s incredible and she has great conversations with Princess that maybe I wouldn’t necessarily feel that comfortable having – although I’m trying to get better at it.

‘Same with Junior, he asks medical things that I wouldn’t know the answer to, it’s great I have that helping hand in Dr. Emily.’
