Pete Evans is all smiles at the beach after investigation is launched into controversial lamp

An Investigation was launched last week into a $15,000 lamp that controversial chef Pete Evans bizarrely claimed could treat the ‘Wuhan virus’.

But on Sunday, things were all smiles for the My Kitchen Rules judge as he hit the beach in New South Wales for a casual dip.

The celebrity chef, 47, was spotted enjoying the sunshine with his youngest daughter, Indii, at Malabar Rock Pool.

Barefoot and carefree! Celebrity chef Pete Evans (pictured) was all smiles at the beach on Sunday after an investigation was launched days earlier into a $15,000 lamp he claimed could treat the ‘Wuhan virus’ with ‘recipes made from light’

Pete shares daughters Indii, 11, and Chilli Evans, 14, with ex-wife Astrid Edlinger.

Opting to go barefoot, the television personality looked carefree and very much in favour of the beach lifestyle.

Draping a towel over his shirtless frame, Pete drew attention not only to his svelte physique, but also his bearded look.

He appeared to leave his phone and wallet either at home or in a nearby car, as he carried a pair of goggles and wore a cap.

Pete was actually wearing the same yellow and pink cap worn in his controversial video, shared to Instagram last Thursday.

In the Instagram Live clip, Pete bizarrely claimed that his $15,000 lamps could treat the ‘Wuhan virus’ with ‘recipes’ made from light.

But while an investigation has been launched into his claims about the device’s health benefits, Pete appeared as happy as ever.

Pete took to social media on Thursday to promote the BioCharger NG Subtle Energy Platform, which is described as a ‘hybrid subtle energy revitalisation platform’.

‘Four transmitted energies stimulate and invigorate the entire body to optimise and improve potential health, wellness, and athletic performance,’ he said.

‘It works to optimize your health, wellness, and athletic performance by aligning and balancing the energy of every cell in your body.’

The My Kitchen Rules star said he and his family use the ‘non-invasive’ lamp ‘pretty much every day’.

He went on to say that the lamp is programmed with thousands of recipes with ‘a couple on there for Wuhan coronavairus that you may be interested in’. There is no evidence it has any effect on the virus.

The Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) has since announced it would investigate the device and how it has been promoted online.

The TGA also issued a warning about advertising relating to COVID-19, which reminds consumers that, in Australia, the advertising of therapeutic goods is regulated by the TGA.

‘The TGA is monitoring non-compliance, particularly in relation to the advertising of products that claim to prevent or cure COVID-19.

The Australian Medical Association also publicly criticised Evans for spruiking the machine.

‘This guy just doesn’t get it. Pete Evans is trying to sell a $15,000 fancy light machine to vulnerable and frightened people to protect them against COVID-19,’ the AMA said on Twitter.
