Patrick Dempsey’s CBS pilot Ways & Means ‘scrapped’ after ‘script supervisor tests positive’ for COVID

Emmy nominee Patrick Dempsey’s CBS political drama pilot Ways & Means has allegedly been ‘scrapped’ after the ‘script supervisor tested positive’ for COVID-19.

Filming on the New Jersey set happened as recent as last Thursday but, with only three days left in production, the network has decided to pull the pilot – according to Page Six.

But a CBS spokesperson told the mag ‘production will resume after the quarantine period’ and those in close contact with the script supervisor are ‘self-isolating.’

The 55-year-old silver fox executive produces and stars as jaded Republican congressional whip who hatches a ‘secret plan to subvert the hopelessly gridlocked system he helped create.’

Phil Abraham directed the pilot – co-written by Republican political consultant Mike Murphy – which also features Lexi Perkel, Troian Bellisario, Amanda Warren, and Gary Hunter.

As of Wednesday, there have reportedly been 751K confirmed coronavirus cases in New Jersey leading to 22,497 deaths since March.

But don’t fret for Patrick, who confirmed Dr. Derek ‘McDreamy’ Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy will return for the second half of the 17th season.
