Paris Hilton gushes over her friendship with Kim Kardashian and discusses split with Chris Zylka

She recently celebrated her 39th birthday with a fun-filled bash in LA alongside long-time friend Kim Kardashian.

And in a new interview with Cosmopolitan UK, Paris Hilton revealed just how proud she is of the reality star, after Kim recently credited her own success to her.

The heiress also revealed all about her 2018 split with former fiancé Chris Zylka, revealing it was the ‘best decision I’ve ever made in my life.’

In a new interview and photoshoot with the publication, the star gushed over her friendship with the Keeping Up With The Kardashian favourite, 39, after Kim appeared to credit her for her career success.     

Kim and Paris have been friends for years, with Kim beginning her career with cameo appearances in Paris’ reality show The Simple Life when she worked as the heiress’ assistant and stylist.

She said: ‘We have conversations about it. She travelled the world with me and we have so many amazing memories. What she’s said is, “I really appreciate everything I’ve learned from you,” and we just always talk [about] how proud of each other we are because we’ve known each other since we were little girls. 

‘She’s sweet and kind and brilliant. I’m so proud of her and impressed with her becoming a lawyer; it’s incredible that she’s using her voice and her platform to help others.’

And while Paris was happy to heap praise on her friendship, the same couldn’t be said for her relationship with actor Chris Zylka, 34, with the blonde beauty insisting he wasn’t ‘right’ for her. 

Paris and Chris split in November 2018, just 10 months after he proposed with a $2million ring. 

Speaking on whether it was a tough decision to call off her engagement to Chris, she explained: ‘No. It was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I just don’t think [he] was the right person and I feel like I’m an incredible woman and I deserve someone so amazing. It just didn’t feel right. I’ve worked way too hard to just give my life to someone. They have to be perfect.’

In fact, the DJ added that she’s loving single life as it feels great to ‘not have someone controlling me.’

She cryptically added that dating ‘certain people’ increases the risk of ‘not trusting them’, and implied that if she went away, she fears they’d ‘do something to embarrass me.’

The star went on to say that she’s ‘lucky’ to no longer have that fear now she’s an ‘independent’ woman.  

Meanwhile, Paris’ pal Kardashian made sure to provide her 160million followers with some behind the scenes footage from inside Hilton’s over-the-top birthday celebration on Thursday.

‘Sliving,’ a slang term penned by Paris that combines the words ‘slaying’ and ‘living,’ was the night’s theme and the hotel heiress made sure it was drilled into the eyes of all those in attendance.

Those entering the party were greeted by a ‘Slivington Manor’ neon sign that glowed in Paris’ favorite color.

The unique theme was embraced further through the use of a ‘sliving’ Instagram filter created specifically for the now 39-year-old, as well as a custom technicolor BMW that guests could pose with.

The Simple Life star was treated to two birthday cakes, one decorated in a barrage of Barbie and another dressed more simply in white and red icing that read ‘Happy Birthday Paris.’

Sister Nicky was in charge of presenting Paris with her first cake, which would require the Simple Life star to make her big birthday wish.

The stunning siblings later danced upon a marble table top, after Paris had grabbed a microphone to address her party’s crowd.

Hilton documented all of her birthday shenanigans on her Instagram page, which included an array of gorgeous seflies, as well as videos of the party’s ambiance.
