Ozzy Osbourne, 71, says past year has been ‘f**king hell’

Ozzy Osbourne looked in good spirits on Monday despite revealing the past year has been ‘f**king hell’.

The rocker, 71, made the comment while addressing the crowd at the iHeartRadio ICONS with Ozzy Osbourne: In Celebration of Ordinary Man event at the iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, California.

The Black SabbAth star was joined by host Eddie Pappani and DISTURBED frontman David Draiman to talk about his first solo record in nearly a decade.

He said: ‘This last year, I’ve been in a bad state, health-wise… I had surgery on my spine which has f*cked me up.

‘Everyone thinks I’ve just discovered the Parkinson’s. I’ve known about the Parkinson’s since 2003. And it’s not like the Michael J. Fox one, thank God.

‘It’s a milder thing that I have, but still – it’s there. I can’t let it stop me.’

‘This last year, it all caught up with me. Staph infection in my hand, then I had pneumonia, then I fell over, then I had surgery.

‘It’s just been f*cking hell… I paid for all the years that got away from me.’

Ozzy chatted about his musical journey and the 11-track record at the iHeartRadio ICONS event, discussing writing his new songs and his plans for the future.

Despite his recent woes, the musician insists he hasn’t ‘peaked’ and still has a ‘long way to go’.

Quizzed whether he plans to retire, Ozzy said: ‘I’ve thought about it. I sometimes think crazy thoughts like that. I cannot retire. I love you guys (to fans).’

The star’s new album sees the superstar collaborate with the likes of Elton John, Slash, Post Malone, Travis Scott, and Tom Morello.

Ozzy went public with his Parkinson’s diagnosis last month and says a nasty fall last year aggravated a neck injury from his 2003 quad bike accident.

He said the crippling nerve damage is the reason why he made the decision to call off his North American leg of his No More Tours 2 tour, so he could seek further treatment in Switzerland.

The Crazy Train artist was set to perform a string of concerts through North America this summer beginning in Atlanta May 27, with a finale of July 31.

He remains slated to play a leg in Europe that commences October 23 in Newcastle.

After intensive surgery last year, the musician says he has been left with ‘f**king nerve pain’ in his neck, back, shoulders and arms- and there’s never any relief.

Ozzy revealed to The Sun he has to ‘take all these painkillers but I’m dying for all the opiate stuff I can’t have’ and that nurses have to keep hold of his medication so he doesn’t self-medicate.

Parkinson’s causes muscle stiffness, slowness of movement, tremors, sleep disturbance, chronic fatigue, an impaired quality of life and can lead to severe disability.

It is a progressive neurological condition that destroys cells in the part of the brain that controls movement.
