Earlier in the day, it was announced that the 2020 TV Week Logie Awards won’t be going ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Bauer Media, the publisher of TV WEEK, announced the news in a press release.

The statement reads: ‘We have spent the last few weeks discussing with our event partners what the TV Week Logie Awards could look like in 2020 while adhering to Government restrictions and working around the challenges of COVID-19’.

‘All parties agree the most positive outcome is to not hold the Logies, including public voting, in 2020, but to stage an even bigger event on the Gold Coast in 2021.’

Last month, it was revealed that TV Week were considering announcing this year’s winners via a television broadcast without any audience or red carpet.

The statement went on to say showrunners plan to hold a ‘bigger’ and more ‘epic’ event in 2021.
