Orlando Bloom hopes the death of dog will prove his love for Katy Perry

Orlando Bloom has tried to see the positive side of losing his dog Mighty.

The 43-year-old actor’s pet vanished during a walk two weeks ago and his collar was later found, seemingly confirming he had died.

And as he prepares to marry pop star girlfriend Katy Perry, after the birth of their baby, Orlando hopes the incident has proven what a good father and husband he’ll be.

Tragic: Orlando Bloom has tried to see the positive side of losing his dog Mighty

‘It was probably good for Katy to see me go to the lengths that I went to, to try and find him,’ the Troy actor told The Mirror. ‘Mighty was the physical, outward representation of my heart.

‘I spent seven days looking and searching because I couldn’t believe it until we found his collar. It was very painful, but he will always be with me. And funnily enough, he’s probably made way for this little girl who is coming into my life soon.’

Orlando shares nine-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, and said of this: ‘I’m super excited. I love being a father to Flynn and I’m excited to be bringing another little baby into the world in these really unusual times.

‘It’s going to be new in so many ways, but I think there’s an instinctive aspect to being a father that I felt very aligned with the first time around so I’m actually very excited about this next chapter, as is Katy. And Flynn couldn’t be more excited to be getting a little sister.’
