Nadia Essex EXCLUSIVE: Pregnant star admits she was terrified she’d give birth to her son at her glam baby shower like her pal Josie Gibson did… but ‘luckily he stayed put’
Nadia Essex celebrated the imminent arrival of her son on Sunday at a lavish baby shower with her close friends and family.
And the TV personality – whose due date is this Thursday – has admitted she was convinced – and scared – that she’d go into labour during the shower itself, after it happened to her friend, Big Brother winner Josie Gibson.
‘I woke up on the morning of my shower with a very active baby,’ Nadia told MailOnline. ‘Lots of twinges and Braxton Hicks. So I had full on flashbacks to Josie’s shower.

‘I remembered her waters breaking there and I desperately didn’t want that to happen to me too.’
‘Luckily he stayed put,’ she added of her son, who clearly decided to give his mum at least one more weekend off.
Nadia, 38, explained that the shower was last-minute, and that the planning was hindered due to the possibility of being induced.
‘It was a lovely day to spend with my nearest and dearest – but we weren’t sure if I’d have to be induced early as I’m measuring big.

‘So once I got the all clear to wait for induction until after my due date we only had five days to organise it. Luckily Saffron at Rizzo PR organised everything and all I had to do was turn up and enjoy the food and [non-alcoholic] bubbles.’
Guests in attendance included fashionista Naomi Isted and Isreal Cassol – owner of the most expensive collection of Birkin bags in the UK.
The expectant mum looked beautiful in a red and white pattered flowing dress with matching heels.
She wore a bejeweled hair clip in her chocolate locks and adorned her already-glowing complexion with bronzer and a plummy lip.
On Tuesday she took to Instagram and posted a contended snap of herself, captioning it: ‘Today I woke up and felt, ok darling, I’m ready!’

The event was held at Unico Gelato & Caffe in Notting Hill and she told OK! Magazine: ‘We grazed delicious food, supplied by Graze Life… and we had yummy cake by BKRY.
‘The room was full of stunning balloons by Something Special Balloons and gorgeous flowers by Saras Events Flowers.
‘When I came home I was happy and exhausted and burst into tears. Full of love and gratitude, scared witless of the next stage but finally feel ready to meet my little boy.’
