‘The mental health awareness conversation, culturally, could never be where it is without the awful price she has paid.’

Spears was put under conservatorship in 2008 after being placed on psychiatric hold for five-days, giving her father control of her person and finances.

Though it was supposed to expire in 2009, it remains in place to this day. Britney has been fighting to remove her father as conservator since 2020.

Her lawyers said the star is ‘afraid of her father’ in front of a judge last November, adding ‘She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career.’

The next hearing regarding Britney Spears’ case is this Thursday, February 11th.
