Last month was the happiest and saddest time of her life as she became engaged, before sadly losing her beloved pet dog just weeks later.

And Lucy Watson has opened up about her plans for her wedding next year as well as sharing her grief over pooch Digby’s death in a candid Q&A session.

Taking to her Instagram stories on Sunday, the former Made In Chelsea star, 30, told her fans that the month since losing Digby had been ‘the hardest and longest of my life’.

Revealing all: Lucy Watson has opened up about her plans for her wedding next year as well as sharing her grief over pooch Digby’s death in a candid Q&A session

Lucy became engaged to boyfriend of five years, James Dunmore in September after he popped the question during a romantic getaway in Greece.

And it’s clear the reality star has grand plans for her big day as she revealed during the Q&A that she planned to get married next summer, and has hired a wedding planner to help with the event.

She wrote: ‘Thank f**k for this wedding keeping me busy. We’ve hired wedding planners @gspltd & we have a good idea of where we want it and when (next summer), but that’s all in the hope that things will be a bit more normal. Wedding planning is stressful.’

In another slide, the beauty confirmed she wanted to tie the knot outside the UK, with eight bridesmaids by her side.

When responding to a question about whether she wanted a UK or abroad wedding, she responded: ‘Currently: abroad. But that may change. I have told all 8 of my bridesmaids.’

Meanwhile, the influencer also shared further details of how James proposed during their trip away to Greece.

Lucy explained: ‘He got the hotel we were staying in to send me a letter saying we were going on a free yacht trip (awkwardly I wasn’t that surprised). He had booked the boat and planned everything.

‘The boat was stunning and I was trying to get content for the hotel. There was a full vegan meal and champagne and we went on a crazy beautiful tour of some private islands. Some of the prettiest scenes I’ve ever witnessed.

‘We went to take a photo together and there he was on one knee. I was literally in shock, my heart didn’t beat for like 3 seconds.

‘We then spent the day on the boat and had the best time with another couple we’re friends with, watched the sun go down. It was perfect.’

Lucy announced the news of her engagement last month and shared a sweet image of the couple on their romantic boat trip to Instagram, alongside the caption: ‘here’s to forever [ring emoji].’ (sic)

Toasting to the occasion with glasses of champagne, the vegan restaurateur enthused she was having ‘the best day ever’ as they watched the sun set.

Lucy and James have been going strong ever since meeting on the E4 series back in 2015, following her ill-fated flings with Andy Jordan, Jamie Laing, Spencer Matthews and Oliver Proudlock.

But while she has been on cloud nine after getting engaged, her happiness has been plagued with grief as she’d had to come to terms with the loss of her dog Digby, who passed away at the end of last month.

When asked how she was doing since her pet died, Lucy admitted that she had found the last month extremely difficult.

She shared: ‘Grief is hard…. I don’t want to be a negative energy on here. It’s been a month today since I lost my best friend, the hardest & longest month of my life.

‘I miss him so much. I have good days & bad days (mainly bad), but I know with time it will get easier. I start to feel memories getting less clear and I panic, but I’m so grateful for all the photos & videos I have & for the incredible time we did share together.’

She continued: ‘One of the worst parts of losing him is that no one can tell me why. We’ve done every test possible and nothing.

‘It’s very hard to get closer on the situation when I don’t have an explanation as to why my baby is gone. I have to learn to accept the understanding of why this happened. It’s hard.

‘Thank you so much to everyone that checks in, I do read the messages. The more days pass, the less people check in & I understand that. This is a battle I need to face somewhat on my own, but every “how are you” really means a lot, as silly as that sounds.

Lucy took to Instagram in September to share an emotional tribute to her ‘best friend’, nearly seven years after she welcomed him into her family.

Alongside a collection of images, the TV personality  admitted the pooch’s death marked one of the ‘worst’ days of her life, three weeks after announcing her engagement to her long-term partner James.

The reality star wrote in a heart-breaking post: ‘3 weeks ago today was one of the happiest days of my life. 3 days ago was the worst. I lost my best friend.

‘I still can’t believe this has happened and I honestly can’t fathom life without you, Digby.

‘I wish more than anything that we could have had more time together… But I am so beyond grateful for the time we did get to share and I know I loved you as much as physically possible every single day.

‘Thank you for everything you taught me, it was the biggest honour to be loved by you (I know you were picky). Forever in our hearts ❤️ never to be forgotten.’

‘Life will bring you so high and then it will drop to a low you never thought possible. I knew this day would come, I used to tear up just thinking about it.
