‘Where are Reynold and Jess?’ MasterChef viewers notice MORE missing contestants with two fan favourites nowhere to be seen
Tuesday’s episode of MasterChef was an all-important elimination episode, but eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice contestants Reynold Poernomo and Jess Liemantara were inexplicably absent.
While some contestants were tasked with recreating a challenging ‘black box’ dessert, the MasterChef hopefuls not involved in the challenge were relegated to the gantry.
But neither Jess, 21, or Reynold were in the kitchen or on the gantry, leaving viewers with plenty of questions.

‘Where is Reynold and Jess? They’re not up on the gantry?’ tweeted one viewer, while another wrote, ‘Really though. Reynold and Jess totally not there? Weirdness. Day off?’
One fan even said they were ‘worried’ about their absence from the episode, after it was announced on Sunday that Ben Ungermann had suddenly left the competition.
‘Should we be worried that there’s no Reynold or Jess tonight? Nothing on their socials. OK I’m worried,’ tweeted one viewer.

Others joked that the talented chefs were missing because the difficult ‘black box’ challenge was ‘too easy’ for them.
‘Why do I feel like Jess and Reynold are going to walk out at the end holding perfect boxes,’ commented one viewer.

‘No Jess or Reynold tonight. The Black Box must be to [sic] easy for them,’ wrote one fan, while another remarked, ‘Maybe they removed Reynold & Jess from the room so they couldn’t help’.
Plenty of fans pointed out that the challenge would have been something dessert king Reynold, 26, would have likely excelled at if he’d been given the chance.
‘Reynold is not up in the gantry because he’s back at the house making an improved version of the black box dessert,’ wrote one fan.

‘Reynold would have had this dessert done in half the time and would’ve found some way to elevate it even more,’ commented another, while one viewer added, ‘Reynold could probably do this with his eyes closed’.
It’s not the only time Reynold has gone missing from the competition, with fans noticing he wasn’t on hand to say goodbye following Hayden Quinn’s elimination on Sunday.
