Married At First Sight’s Poppy Jennings slams the hit reality show

‘I’d rather step on Lego than go on that show again!’ Married At First Sight’s Poppy Jennings slams the hit reality show… and reveals why she won’t be watching the reunion

She didn’t find love on this year’s season of Married At First Sight, and from the sounds of it, Poppy Jennings has more than a few regrets.

Appearing on Nova FM’s podcast, Finding a Unicorn, on Wednesday, the 38-year-old told hosts Carly Bowyer and Eliza Paschke what went on behind the scenes.

‘I’d rather step on Lego than go on that show again,’ she said, adding that appearing on the hit show caused her ‘mental trauma’.

Poppy said the way she was portrayed on the Channel Nine reality series was ‘so inaccurate’, which left her feeling ‘angry’.

‘It’s like watching this part of your life and then there’s so much missing from it, and it doesn’t make sense,’ she explained.

She said the girls’ night out, during which Elizabeth Sobinoff and Stacey Hampton had an angry confrontation with Hayley Vernon, was actually ‘worse’ in real life.

‘They definitely took out some pretty crazy bits. I think things were thrown. We were rocking in the fetal position after that girls’ night,’ she revealed.

And despite returning to the show for the highly anticipated reunion episode, Poppy admitted she probably won’t tune in for the finale when it airs on Sunday night.

‘There’s definitely a bombshell [at the reunion] that comes out. You know what they do though… They love to take your face from three hours ago and put it on for a reaction,’ she laughed.

Poppy said she hoped ‘the footage somehow blows up so no one can watch it’, and urged others not to apply for the show in future seasons.

‘I don’t even know how they can run next year. I don’t even know why people want to apply!’ she continued.
