Married At First Sight’s Michael Goonan ‘had a secret girlfriend during filming’

Married At First Sight’s Michael Goonan had a ‘secret girlfriend’ while filming the series, a new report claims. 

Woman’s Day alleged on Monday that the 28-year-old had a fling with a woman known only as ‘Rachel’.   

‘He would sneak out all the time – he was barely around when cameras stopped rolling,’ a source is said to have told the magazine.   

‘He met up with Rachel, a girl he knew from Adelaide,’ the source is said to have added, and the pair, ‘shared a boozy night together behind Stacey’s back’. 

Stacey is said to have seen the night out as ‘an absolute slap in the face!’

It comes after Michael finally responded to rumours that he cheated on his ‘wife’ Stacey with Hayley Vernon during filming late last year.   

Speaking to Monday’s TV Week, Michael confirmed that he and Hayley shared a kiss inside co-stars Vanessa Romito and Chris Nicholls’ hotel room after a night of drinking and ‘hanging out’. 

‘We were all joking and having a laugh. We were mucking around with the phone and were like, “Oh how funny would it be if this got out?”‘ he said of the kiss- which was allegedly captured on camera.   

‘We were fully clothed, just being stupid, being loose, having fun, not really understanding the implications of what rumours can do to your life.’   

At the time of the kiss, Michael’s wife Stacey was away in Adelaide spending time with her two children, TV Week reports. 

Meanwhile, Hayley has insisted that her encounter with Michael was just a ‘party pash’ and nothing more.   

‘There might have been something shared, but it wasn’t a connection, that was more like a bottle of alcohol’, she told Monday’s New Idea magazine.

‘Everyone’s had a 16-year-old party pash, haven’t they?’ she added.
