Married At First Sight’s Ivan Sarakula denies flouting coronavirus lockdown rules with Josh Pihlak

They were seen taking selfies, drinking beer and during burnouts together in a backyard shed, earlier this week.

But Married At First Sight’s Ivan Sarakula has denied flouting coronavirus lockdown laws with his co-star and good friend, Josh Pihlak.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, Ivan, 30, said video of the pair hanging out and uploaded to their respective Instagram accounts, was old.

The pair both posted the footage on Tuesday.

‘[We’re] not bending coronavirus rules at all, old footage has been uploaded, so yeah I actually wasn’t hanging out with Josh this week,’ Ivan told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I’m being a good boy, 1.5 metering from everybody. Just staying indoors and only exiting the house to exercise, that’s what I’m doing.’

Josh also told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday that the pictures and videos were ‘throwbacks’ from when they first finished filming MAFS.

At first glance, Ivan and Josh appeared to be flouting coronavirus lockdown rules, despite the strict regulations across Australia.

The reality TV stars – who both hail from Sydney but don’t live together – looked like they were enjoying a social catch up at Josh’s home on Tuesday.

The pair posted their activities on their Instagram stories, and were seen doing ‘shed skids,’ drinking beer and even posing for pictures together while supposedly in ‘isolation.’

Truck driver Josh, 28, posted to his story a picture of himself drinking a Victoria Bitter with Ivan at his backyard bar.

He also shared an image of himself with a shirtless Ivan, captioning it: ‘Absolute legend.’

He then shared a video of Ivan revving the engine of his Harley Davidson.

Later on Tuesday, real estate agent Ivan, 30, shared a picture of himself and Josh with a male friend posing up while at home.

It’s believed that when the footage was taken, Ivan has been visiting Josh in Newcastle, in Northern NSW, where he’s now based.

There are now only select reasons as to why people are allowed to leave their homes.

The reasons include for work, school or education, food shopping and other essential items, medical care and exercise.

People are also urged while out to practice safe physical distancing, with one person per four square metres. There is also a strict two-person gathering limit.

In NSW, the public have been told to stay home. Visiting friends at home for social reasons is not allowed.

If any of the rules are broken, police can fine people $1,000 on the spot and up to $11,000 and six months in jail.
