Married At First Sight’s Hayley Vernon steps out in Sydney amid cheating scandal

Married At First Sight star Hayley Vernon put on a brave face as she stepped out in Sydney, amid the cheating scandal.

The 32-year-old finance broker showed off her toned figure on the day in a black crop top and high-waisted pants.

It comes as her ‘husband’ David Cannon revealed on Tuesday that she used her contaminated toothbrush for five days. 

The bodybuilder was spotted making her way to a dinner party for the show during filming in October, when the cheating scandal was playing out on set.  

The brunette wore her casual get-up with thongs and light makeup. 

She looked a little downcast and stressed as she went to meet her co-stars. 

On the show on Tuesday, her ‘husband’ David revealed that Hayley had been caught kissing Stacey Hampton’s husband Michael Goonan during a drunken night out in Sydney’s Double Bay.

Sitting alone in his hotel room at 1am and speaking directly to the camera, he said: ‘I was told that Hayley is macking on with Michael.’ 

He continued: ‘My darling wife is making out with another husband.’

With a laugh, David revealed that Hayley had left her key card in their hotel room, leaving her unable to get back into the room. 

‘I’m sure it will all come up at the dinner party and I’m sure it will all come up at the commitment ceremony,’ he said.

‘Why am I smiling? Because I just want to go home and put this nightmare of a marriage behind me.’ 

Things took a darker turn in a preview for Wednesday’s dinner party, when it was revealed that David had scrubbed a toilet with Hayley’s toothbrush in a vile act of revenge.

The truck driver filmed the incident on his phone, with Hayley somehow getting her hands on the footage.

‘What’s this, do you want me to pass it around?’ she yells in the preview as she brandishes the phone at the table.

After Tuesday’s episode, truck driver David, 31, appeared on News.com.au’s podcast Not Here To Make Friends, when he spoke about the toothbrush incident. 

‘I knew she liked her equal in her coffee so I flogged that, I knew she liked clothes folded in a certain way, then while I was getting my toiletries out of the room, that’s when the whole toothbrush incident happens,’ he said. 

He said he ‘regrets’ his actions said that it’s ‘something I’m not proud of.’ 

But he said he was driven to scrub the toilet with her toothbrush because when she would use the bathroom, she wouldn’t clean up after herself.’

‘She would go to the toilet without cleaning up after herself, not very lady like,’ David said. 

‘The bathroom was Armageddon every time.’

‘She used it for five days,’ he said about the toothbrush.

‘It’s her own poo, it’s her own bacteria in her own body so it’s not going to hurt her.’
