Married At First Sight’s Dean Wells claims he was an ‘innovator’ for cheating on the show

Dean Wells has an interesting perspective on his Married At First Sight cheating scandal.

The 43-year-old MAFS alum labelled himself an ‘innovator’ for being one of the first stars to cheat on the hit reality show.

Dean was commenting on a recent Instagram post by The Wash about why former MAFS stars Erin Bateman and Bryce Mohr won’t be appearing on the show’s upcoming reunion special, despite being one of the only surviving couples.   

‘We got told at the reunion that only people from season 5 and 6 were asked as those were the highest rating seasons,’ Dean, who appeared on season five, responded.

His comment attracted the attention of another former MAFS star, Bella Frizza, who appeared on season three of the show. 

‘@deanwells coz you guys were rule breakers,’ the 35-year-old wrote, with Dean responding: ‘@bellafrizza ha yeh I didn’t know there was rules tbh never saw the silly show before I was on it’.

Jumping in on the conversation thread, one furious fan then added: ‘@deanwells who knew that… cheating on someone had to be a “rule”‘.

But rather than taking offence to the comment, Dean thanked the person and said he was an ‘innovator’. 

‘Look, I don’t want to talk myself up too hard or anything, but I guess you could say in that respect I was somewhat of an innovator,’ he began. 

He added: ‘Thank you. It’s rule breakers that change the world’.  

During the 2018 season of Married At First Sight, Dean was exposed for having an affair with Davina Rankin on the show.

Dean had been paired with Tracey Jewel, while Davina, 28, was matched with Ryan Gallagher, and the revelation left their respective partners devastated.
