Married At First Sight: Viewers spot an editing fail during Cathy and Josh’s date

Married At First Sight has racked up its fair share of editing fails this season.

And on Tuesday, eagle-eyed viewers noticed another one when Cathy Evans and Josh Philak went on a date to try and ‘spice’ up their flagging relationship.

After going trampolining, the couple went for dinner and cocktails at a Mexican restaurant in Sydney.

Cathy was shown drinking a frozen margarita while encouraging Josh to eat a chilli that had been used as a garnish on his drink.

‘It’s sweet chilli,’ Cathy joked, before Josh started chewing it.

As Josh coped with the surge of heat in his mouth, his ‘wife’ laughed hysterically. Meanwhile, the scene cut between reaction shots of the pair.

But the level of liquid in Cathy’s drink shifted between each cut and even changed colour at one point from pink to yellow.

Furthermore, the drink in front of Josh disappeared and reappeared. 

This continuity error suggests that Cathy and Josh’s reactions were filmed several times before producers were happy with the shots.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Cathy and Josh have had different takes spliced together during their ‘spontaneous’ romantic moments. 

Last month, Cathy’s hair switched from wet to dry and back again during the couple’s spa date on their honeymoon in rural Victoria.
