Married At First Sight stars plot to SABOTAGE the new season by launching a smear campaign against producers and encouraging people not to apply

Married At First Sight’s ‘Class of 2020’ has been the most outspoken in the show’s history, with multiple cast members accusing producers of being manipulative and neglectful.

And on Wednesday, jilted bride Mishel Karen revealed that she and her co-stars were on a campaign to warn other singletons not to apply for Nine’s social experiment.

The 49-year-old police worker said they were doing a ‘community service’ by telling the general public about the dangers of signing your life away.

She began by accusing the producers of deliberately targeting ‘vulnerable’ people in the casting process.

‘They picked a lot of vulnerable people who weren’t doing great in the first place… they got worse, including myself. It’s not a good process for anyone,’ she said.

‘I think it’s a community service, we’re trying to protect people [from applying].’

The mother-of-two failed to find love with Melbourne-based barbershop owner Steve Burley, 51, on Married At First Sight.

It’s not the first time Mishel has criticised the program and its producers.

She previously claimed the show had left her $40,000 in debt and 13kg heavier.

Mishel’s co-star Natasha Spencer has also warned people about applying for the controversial reality show.

During an interview on The Babble podcast last month, she described the social experiment as ‘toxic’ and warned listeners of the manipulative editing techniques.

‘MAFS is literally the most manipulative, toxic thing that somebody can go through,’ said the 26-year-old said financial analyst.

‘Just know that when you sign that first page of your contract that says they can manipulate and change your image on the show to any way that they please, and you have no control over it, that is 110 per cent correct,’ she added.

‘Just be aware that they manipulate things. They get you to say things more than once in different ways so they can cut and change words as they please.’

Poppy Jennings has also slammed the series, and recently said she would never appear on Married At First Sight again.

‘I’d rather step on Lego than go on that show again,’ she told the Finding a Unicorn podcast last month.

The Wollongong-based photographer said the way she’d been portrayed on screen was ‘so inaccurate’ that she was left feeling ‘angry’.

‘It’s like watching this part of your life and then there’s so much missing from it, and it doesn’t make sense,’ she said.
