Married At First Sight’s Michael Brunelli exposes a BIZARRE secret about the on-camera fights – and it’ll change the way you watch the show

Married At First Sight has become a ratings blockbuster thanks to its uniquely awful blend of catfights, scandals and betrayal.

And one of the franchises most popular stars, Michael Brunelli, has revealed there are actually a few rules the participants must follow during arguments.

In a Q&A on TikTok, the 30-year-old personal trainer revealed that brides and grooms aren’t allowed to confront each other off camera.

Wait for the cameras! Married At First Sight’s Michael Brunelli has revealed that brides and grooms aren’t allowed to confront each other off camera

He said: ‘One of the weirdest things when we were on MAFS was that they didn’t film all day, so when the camera crew left [at night], they told us, “Don’t learn anything about each other, don’t really talk to each other because it needs to be on camera.”

‘If you have a fight, you need to stop mid-fight, call the producer so they can bring the camera and can start recording… then you’ve got to keep going with the fight!’

Michael confessed that he and girlfriend Martha Kalifatidis ‘broke that rule’ during the 2019 season and ‘drove our producer crazy’.

Following the two-part MAFS reunion special on Monday, Martha joined her boyfriend for a Q&A session on Instagram Live.

When someone asked about the participants’ salaries, Michael said the relationship experts ‘earned the most’.

Martha, 32, then blurted out: ‘No, we probably got more than them!’

Michael, who seemingly realised his lover was breaking her contract by talking about pay, responded: ‘Oh, you’re f**ked! You’re an idiot… anyway, moving along!’

The couple also revealed that filming for the Grand Reunion went on for 15 hours, and their turn on the couch with the experts didn’t take place until about 3am.

‘That is how you make a reality TV show,’ Martha said. ‘You film for 12, 14, 16 hours a day and then you just show people 20 minutes.’

The pair have been dating since meeting on the 2019 season of MAFS, and are one of the few couples to remain together after the experiment.

During the reunion, the duo hinted they might one day want to start a family as they spoke with with resident expert Mel Schilling.

‘Everyone puts this pressure, we get the phone calls from home. We get the marriage and the baby questions. It’s always coming up,’ Martha said.

‘I think it’s a natural progression, it’ll definitely happen,’ she added.
