Married At First Sight groom Michael Goonan exposes the REAL reason production halted for two weeks

Married At First Sight’s Michael Goonan reveals the REAL reason production halted for two weeks – and it wasn’t due to his cheating scandal

Married At First Sight was forced to halt production for two weeks in October, just weeks are filming had begun.

And despite admitting to his own cheating scandal, Michael Goonan has denied being solely responsible for the temporary shut-down.

He told Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny on Tuesday: ‘I’m not the reason that production halted, at all, for two weeks!’

Michael clarified: ‘Production halted for two weeks, because, I believe, so much stuff happened off camera that wasn’t captured in the moment.

‘Production had to have multiple meetings and work out where everyone’s storyline was at, because a lot of storylines had obviously deviated or gone off the rails.

‘It would have been a hard job for them [MAFS producers]. If you’ve got stuff going on off camera, you’ve still got to be able to tell the story.’

Michael refused to confirm any ‘cheating’ or ‘affair’ scandals, but claimed there were stars going into other couples’ hotel rooms and going out to bars together without a producer knowing or a camera capturing the moments.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

It comes after Michael finally responded to rumours that he cheated on his ‘wife’ Stacey with co-star Hayley Vernon during filming late last year.

Speaking to Monday’s TV Week, Michael confirmed that he and Hayley shared a kiss inside co-stars Vanessa Romito and Chris Nicholls’ hotel room after a night of drinking and ‘hanging out’.

‘We were all joking and having a laugh. We were mucking around with the phone and were like, “Oh how funny would it be if this got out?”‘ he said of the kiss.

‘We were fully clothed, just being stupid, being loose, having fun, not really understanding the implications of what rumours can do to your life.’

Meanwhile, Hayley has insisted that her encounter with Michael was nothing more than just a ‘party pash’.
