Married At First Sight fans brand Aleks Markovic a LIAR

Married At First Sight viewers branded Aleks Markovic ‘a liar’ for claiming to be ‘in love’ with ‘husband’ Ivan Sarakula during Sunday night’s grand finale episode.

In a series of tweets, fans of the show said they ‘weren’t buying’ their romance.

Multiple cast members also accused the couple of faking their relationship.

‘Everyone clapping the true love story between Ivan and Aleks, The Liar, sorry Aleks,’ another sarcastically posted.

‘We ain’t buying it, Aleks,’ one simply stated, as well as one who wrote: ‘Does “in love” mean the same to Aleks, as it does [to] the rest of us?’

However, it wasn’t all negative, with some claiming the couple are too ‘intelligent’ to star on the program.

‘Ivan and Aleks, too intelligent for #MAFSAU,’ one wrote, while another added: ‘Ivan and Aleks, far too sensible, rational and level-headed for this experiment.’

During Sunday’s episode, Aleks, 26, and Ivan, 30, explained how they reunited privately after quitting the show halfway through, with many failing to believe them.

After filming the finale on January 16, they then split weeks later in early February.

‘We’re in a really good place, but we got very heavily pressured within the walls of this experiment,’ said Ivan, confirming they’re now in an official relationship.

Josh Pihlak was first to voice his doubts, saying: ‘I’m so f**king confused.’

After the group then watched footage back of Aleks and Ivan’s final dinner party, the couple addressed the cheating allegations they faced before quitting the show.

Michael Goonan initially accused Aleks of cheating with a mystery man after she went to a Serbian event, and he stood by his claims during Sunday’s finale.

‘Can I just say something? Do you think if I really cheated on my husband we’d still be sitting here together? Not where we come from, morally,’ Aleks hit back.

‘We definitely had no cheating scandal. I went out with a woman and there was the 50-year-old restaurant owner there. If that’s cheating, you can say that’s cheating.’

‘We’ve come here saying we love each other, we’re loyal to each other, we’re working on things and we’re exclusive – who knows what the future holds,’ he declared.

As Mishel Karen rolled her eyes, Amanda Micallef whispered: ‘I think they’re faking it.’

Cathy Evans responded: ‘Oh yeah, same.’
