Mark Bonnar gets to work on set of Guilt season two in Glasgow as the Scottish city is transformed into Chicago with props like hot dog stands and American flags

Mark Bonnar is busy at work on the second season for his crime drama Guilt.

And the Scottish actor, 52, was seen getting to work on set of the BBC show in Glasgow on Wednesday, which had been transformed into the streets of Chicago.

Getting into character as Max, Mark was seen strolling through Bothwell Street which had been decorated with American flags and food trucks selling hot dogs.

Mark put on a dapper display for his character as he wrapped up warm in a dark blue pea coat that he paired with a red cravat.

He completed his look with a pair of denim jeans and black ankle boots, while he also carried a brown satchel bag during his scene.

While he wasn’t shooting a scene, Mark was seen wearing a puffy black jacket over his ensemble and he also carried a hot water bottle to keep warm.

A number of things had been put in place to ensure viewers would be transported to Chicago as crew members were seen changing number plates to American ones.

Doormen were seen dressed up while standing beside American flags, and police cars and yellow taxis were driven through the streets.

To add to the atmosphere, a few of Mark’s co-stars were dressed up in American police uniforms while they patrolled the streets. 

The crew made sure to keep safe amid the coronavirus crisis by wearing masks throughout the shoot.

The first season of Guilt follows the trials of two brothers, Max and Jake (Jamie Sives), who get involved in a hit and run after a wedding.

Following the accident the pair decide to cover up the crime rather than confess to killing an elderly man, leaving them struggling with their feelings of guilt.  

Guilt’s first season aired in 2019, and although the show was a mini series it was revealed that after wowing viewers a second instalment was on the way.
