Malin Andersson slams trolls as she returns home from Dubai after backlash for posting video

Malin Andersson slammed trolls as she returned home from Dubai on Tuesday, after receiving criticism for posting a holiday video hours after the UK entered lockdown.

The Love Island star, 28, was branded ‘out of touch’ earlier in the day after posting a video of herself frolicking in a private pool in a blue bikini while lockdown restrictions increased amid spiralling infection rates.

Malin took to Instagram to reveal she was leaving the UAE after extending her stay, sharing snaps of her ‘last supper’ and rooftop pool before filming a video from her taxi en-route to the airport in which she called out a troll.

She posted a screenshot of a message from a follower which referenced the tragic death of her newborn daughter Consy  in 2019.

The message read: ‘I appreciate a lot that you are always trying to cheer people up but your Dubai posts were really demotivating.

‘People feel locked in and were not able to see their loved ones for months now. You probably wouldn’t appreciate either watching someone else enjoying life with their healthy child when you lost yours.’

She said: ‘I’ve extended way too long I’ve got loads of work to do

‘Also I started randomly getting loads of abuse yesterday after being here for a month

‘I will expose any more p****s that message me because that is not on. When you’re bringing other stuff in. That is very disgusting

‘But we stay positive, I’m not letting this negative energy affect me. I need to repel all this dark energy.’

It comes after Malin extended her stay in Dubai on Monday, before Boris Johnson’s announcement.

In the video, Malin writhed around in the pool as she danced to Peter Andre’s Mysterious Girl.

The television personality showed off her ample cleavage and hourglass figure in the halterneck bikini.

While Malin appeared in her element as she danced around and mimed the lyrics, her fans were less-than-impressed.

One wrote in the comment section: ‘Very out of touch given the lockdown in UK now,’ while another added: ‘You win the bad timing award, talk about tone deaf’.

A third follower chimed: ‘I think it’s great you are living your life how you want to. You have gone through extreme hardship and totally deserve all the good stuff that life throws at you, you clearly work hard. However just bare a thought for the Uk followers right now…this isn’t saying “you know how hard it is, and we are in this together” . Maybe if you are going to stay in Dubai living your best life you can, maybe don’t rub it in.’

Another added: ‘I’m sorry but I have to unfollow. I honestly thought you were one of the few empathetic and genuine ‘influencers’ out there but the fact you are so flagrantly floating rules and even have the audacity to ask opinions about staying when the government have clearly stated those UK citizens overseas should return ASAP is shocking.’

‘Quite disappointed this is what you’ve chosen to post on a day like today. #anotheroutoftouchceleb #disappointedbutnotsurprised,’ typed another.

‘Feel like you could’ve read the room a little with this post. Travelling abroad in a pandemic is one thing but to post a video such as this after a strict lockdown has been announced, where people abroad are being told to get home, is a bit much for me,’ a different follower commented.

Under the latest national lockdown rules, which is now in effect, holidays are banned as international travel is only permitted for a strict number of reasons such as for work.

UK residents currently abroad do not need to return home immediately. However, they should check with your airline or travel operator on arrangements for returning.

Within the UK, domestic holidays are also banned as you must stay at home at all times except for a limited number of ‘reasonable excuses’ such as shopping for essentials or work.

The Government has said if you need to travel you should stay local – meaning avoiding travelling outside of your village, town or the part of a city where you live – and look to reduce the number of journeys you make overall.

Extended break: Malin decided to extend her stay in Dubai after she admitted she was ‘actually so nervous’ to return home[‘

Malin decided to extend her stay in Dubai after she admitted she was ‘actually so nervous’ to return home, but planned to ‘do a massive detox’ and cleanse her ‘mind, body and soul’ when she comes back.

The reality star said: ‘I’m actually so nervous to come home because I’ve been in my own little bubble for two weeks, just over. It like ah, f***, I’ve got to go back to England.

‘But it’s got to be done. I’ve got to work, get my health back, exercise, have my morning smoothies, produce some amazing content for you all.

‘I was thinking, “oh yeah, I can work in Dubai”. I absolutely can’t. All I did was drink.

‘But yeah, I’m going to do a massive detox, cleanse my mind, body and soul. Meditate – I haven’t meditated.

‘I haven’t read since I’ve been here – like I only read at the beginning and yeah today’s just become a bit crazy, so I need to realign.’
