Malin Andersson re-shares clip of her bruised arm after abusive ex was released from prison

Malin Anderson re-shared a clip of her bruised arm to Instagram on Monday, under a month after her violent ex was released from prison.

The Love Island star, 28, who originally posted the harrowing video in 2019, reflected on the physical abuse she had suffered, admitting that while she can no longer recognise her former self, she’s now in a place where she ‘floats free’.

Last month, the influencer upped her security at her home as it was reported that her former partner Tom Kemp has served three months of a ten month sentence and will  serve the remaining seven months of his term on Home Detention Curfew.

‘I hardly recognise who I once was’: Malin Anderson re-shared a clip of her bruised arm to Instagram on Monday, under a month after her violent ex was released from prison

Revealing how she views herself after being in an abusive relationship, the TV star wrote: ‘TRIGGER. As I stare into the eyes of this girl, I hardly recognise who she once was.

‘Lost confidence, beaten down mentally and physically.. just a former version of who she used to be.

‘The glitter in her eyes had gone, the spring in her step; no more.. her soul stuck in a cage.’

Detailing her growth and how it ‘hurts’ to recall the past, the media personality said: ‘It feels weird reflecting back on past photos or videos, as I always thought it would never happen to me.

‘I’m a strong character, fearless and free.. to think that I was trapped in toxicity for so long and became a slave to my own freedom – hurts.

‘The bruises to me aren’t what pains me, it’s the look in my eyes.. the look of loss. The look of a girl who felt like she lost everything, including herself.’

The body confidence advocate also said she’s now in a better place as she added: ‘But now I float free, almost like magic, my own kind of magic.

‘I’m in a place where everything flows to me like a river.. my happiness oozes out of my eyes and I see life with a HD lens. The emotional abuse took longer to recover from, but I got there.. I reclaimed my power.

‘Somethings take a while, but you’ll get to a space you never thought was possible. The way you think you need them – you don’t. You need you back. Nobody but, YOU.

Tom, 28, was jailed at Aylesbury Crown Court in September after admitting to actual bodily harm, which left the reality star ‘black and blue’.

But Tom, from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, denied the claims at the time, branding her a ‘liar with mental health issues’.

The former couple had an on-off romance, splitting briefly during her pregnancy, amid claims Tom had been unfaithful to her, but reconciling shortly before the birth.

Their baby daughter Consy was born seven weeks premature in December 2018 and was being treated at Great Ormond Street hospital, but sadly passed away aged four weeks on 22 January 2019.

In March they split again, with Malin admitting it was better to end things between them as she and her partner struggled with their grief.
