Married At First Sight’s Steve Burley reopens his Melbourne barbershop as coronavirus-related restrictions ease

Married At First Sight groom Steve Burley has reopened his Melbourne-based barbershop, after coronavirus-related restrictions ease.

While he was able to keep the barbershop open for limited bookings amid the lockdown, the 52-year-old owner is now accepting walk-ins and has extended the open times.

Donning a hat with the barbershop’s logo, Steve informed his fans about the new hours on Wednesday.

‘Hi guys, just a reminder from last week that we are open from Wednesday, Thursday, Friday until 7PM. So open 10 until 7PM,’ he said on the Kingsman Barbers Instagram page.

He urged prospective clients to still book, or he may close early.

It appears his MAFS co-stars Jonethen Musulin and David Cannon were among the first customers to head over to the salon, based on the shop’s Instagram.

However, they may have been older photos, as Jonethen would have had to jet from the Gold Coast to Melbourne in order to get a trim.

It comes after Steve broke his silence about hair transplant rumours earlier this month.

The Melbourne-based expat explained that he initially shaved his forehead to emphasise his famous quiff.

Steve said he was ‘naturally growing’ the front part of his hair out, and insisted his tresses are all natural after being trolled over the strange style.

In the meantime, Steve has ditched his quiff and is now wearing his hair down to cover up the gradually growing tufts on his forehead.

‘I’ve been hammered for my fringe, so I’m on the way back. Now get off my back haha,’ Steve joked as he debuted his new trendy hairstyle this week.

‘Get excited my hairline is on its way back,’ he added.

During his time on MAFS, Steve chose to shave back his v-shaped hairline, sometimes known as a widow’s peak, so it was evenly straight and slicked it into a fashionable quiff.

In April, Steve finally revealed why he started shaving his forehead after fans picked up on the detail and were confused as to why he’d purposely recede his hair.

‘Yes I used to shave my forehead after a barber cut my hair like that. I’m growing it back. I had my hairline done like this years and years ago,’ he said.

He added that he ‘now regrets it’ after the speculation about his appearance.
