Married At First Sight EXCLUSIVE: The advice Martha Kalifatidis offered to Natasha Spencer on building her profile and staying in the spotlight following reality TV fame

Married At First Sight may be over for this year, but it’s just the beginning of the 2020 cast’s chances to build a lasting profile in the industry.

And this year’s controversial bride Natasha Spencer insists she’s already seeking advice on how to extend her moment in the spotlight following her reality TV stint.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Natasha said she reached out to 2019’s breakout star Martha Kalifatidis early on for tips.

‘I reached out to Martha and said I really respected her image currently in the media and asked how did she get it,’ she said.

Natasha was impressed by how Martha had scooped up numerous sponsorships, media opportunities and paid content deals after her controversial wine-throwing incident during 2019’s final dinner party.

‘She just said to give her a call at some stage if I ever needed her. So now is kind of more the time that I will,’ Natasha said, after her own dramatic final dinner party toast was aired across the nation last week.

‘Martha just said to take everything with a grain of salt. Treat it as an experience, and a laugh. Look forward to what’s coming later and just don’t get too sucked into this world of MAFS.

‘She also said to just remember it’s a stepping stone. Which is great advice and kind of where I think I am now,’ Natasha added.

While Nine have revoked publicity privileges for Natasha, and some of her other cast mates, for breaking contract, she has begun organising her own paid publicity opportunities to cash in on her fame.

Martha is the most-followed MAFS star, with 320k Instagram fans. She also has 35k YouTube subscribers, has been given endless endorsements and sponsorships deals, and even hosted her own Nine MAFS-related side project while the show aired.

The 31-year-old former reality star’s latest venture saw her promote ShopBack’s $20,000 cashback competition in a TV advertisement.

After being matched on last year’s series, Martha and Michael Brunelli, 28, recently moved from Melbourne to Sydney together, renting an apartment off Bondi Beach.

Speaking about her own experience on the hit show, Martha told Daily Mail Australia last month that she had ‘an onscreen persona’ that wasn’t completely accurate of who she is in real life.

‘You’re making a TV show… It’s a production. It’s very clever the way it’s done. The psychology behind it and how it works is very smart,’ she said.
