Married At First Sight’s David Cannon challenges former Brisbane Lions star Jonathan ‘Browny’ Brown to a boxing match over ‘derogatory comments’ made about his Christian parents
David Cannon has challenged former AFL player Jonathan ‘Browny’ Brown to a boxing match.
The Married At First Sight star, 31, was ‘offended’ by the comments Jonathan made about David’s Christian parents while interviewing his former ‘wife’ Hayley Vernon on Nova’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny radio show.
As a result, the recently evicted reality star has challenged Browny to a boxing bout during an upcoming promotional event for the Team Ellis boxing gym.

The 38-year-old radio host laughed with Hayley in early February, as they discussed David’s parents traditional beliefs.
The controversial bride explained David’s father Kelvin saw his own personality as the perfect match for his son, explaining he should be married to somebody that was was ‘more sedate’.
‘He wants a stick in the mud,’ Browny said.

After playing an audio clip of Kelvin, Browny added: ‘That guy would be a boring lover, you can just tell by his voice.’
Early on in the series, Kelvin and his wife Michelle were immediately concerned after being introduced to Hayley’s boisterous personality during the wedding reception.
‘I don’t know if she’s the right style of woman for David,’ Kelvin had said at the time.

He went on to add: ‘This is not his usual type for a long-term relationship. I think David’s definitely got his work cut out.’
While Browny has had a 15 year AFL career, David would be at a clear advantage in the boxing ring.
He has previously won two Australian Muay Thai titles and an East Coast kickboxing title during his eight year career.
