Luke Wilson heads out for a beach run in Santa Monica wearing a bandana over his face

He recently said he would absolutely ‘love’ to be in another Legally Blonde sequel.

And Luke Wilson was making sure he’ll be in his peak physical condition as he went for a run on Thursday.

The actor, 48, who is brother to fellow star Owen, wore a blue bandana over his face as he stepped out in Santa Monica, California.

The Royal Tenenbaums star cut a casual figure in a light blue top and grey shorts for the run.

Luke wore a white cap and sunglasses, covering up as he ran across the Will Rogers State Beach.

The actor sped along the sand in his black trainers as he made sure to stay fit during lockdown. 

It comes after Luke said he would love the opportunity to appear in another Legally Blonde film.

The star played Emmett Richmond, the love interest of Reese Witherspoon’s Elle Woods, in the 2001 original and the 2003 sequel Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde and Luke said he would jump at the chance to make a third movie. 

‘I have not talked to Reese about it, but yeah I always kind of hear things here and there, he told Entertainment Tonight. ‘Never anything official about them doing another Legally Blonde, but I’d love to do another one.’

‘I mean, just that character Reese played was so funny at the time and that has kind of become this iconic character now.’ 

And Luke has some ideas on what Elle and Emmett’s lives would be like in 2020. 

He said: ‘I would say they definitely have a few children and I just think that it’d be really funny if Reese had a little mini-me, a version of herself. I would definitely think that they’d have a couple of children.’ 

Last year, Reese revealed she had been ‘working on’ a third film but hadn’t yet started filming. 

She said: ‘She’s a very beloved character. You just want her to go on a hero’s journey like she does in the first movie, and I’m having a great time working on it. 

We have] a script, but we haven’t shot anything.’
