Love Is Blind star Kenny Barnes engaged to Alexandra Garrison… after Kelly Chase dumped him at the altar on finale of their Netflix show

Love Is Blind star Kenny Barnes has gotten engaged to his yearlong girlfriend Alexandra Garrison.

The 28-year-old was dumped at the altar on the finale of the reality series but went on to find love again with Alexandra, a friend of his sister Anna.

Earlier this month he proposed with a four-carat emerald ring at the century-old Duke Mansion in Charlotte and she said yes, he told People.

Kenny shot Love Is Blind in the autumn of 2018, proposing to Kelly Chase after talking to her but never seeing her face, as per the protocol of the show.

The newly engaged couples spend time getting to know each other leading up to their weddings, where two pairs decided to tie the knot and four did not.

Kelly tearfully told Kenny at the altar that she could not marry him, but on the reunion special months later he revealed he was with someone else.

The show ‘was physically and emotionally draining but allowed me to become more in tune with myself and what I wanted in a partner. The most important thing I learned was how to honor and love the things that truly make me happy.’

He told People: ‘To take those things and, instead of catering to someone out of convenience, find someone that truly has your best interest in mind to share it with.’

After Anna introduced Kenny and Alexandra at Wooden Robot brewery in Charlotte, the new couple carried on a long-distance romance for three months.

‘What’s funny is that there was apparently an ‘inside joke’ among their friends that Alexandra should date me. Alexandra knew who I was during that entire three-year period, but since we lived in separate cities and had never met, there was never an opportunity to entertain anything,’ dished Kenny.

He realized he would settle down with her ‘when she and I stayed up looking at the stars during a summertime trip to Lake Gaston. We talked for at least six hours and ended up falling asleep on the couch upstairs. It was then that I knew we were on the same page and that we were meant to be.’

As regards the proposal itself he dished: ‘She would tell you that she had an idea, but I would describe it as wishful thinking. I kept it a secret and definitely handled her questioning in the months leading up to our moment to keep her off my trail.’

Kenny spilled: ‘I had organized plans to propose at The Biltmore Estate (our first date) but the vacation fell through in response to COVID-19 restrictions.’

However lockdowns just give them more time to get the wedding arrangements together and they have decided to ‘take advantage’ of the circumstances.

‘So many events have been delayed, canceled or pushed to 2021 or 2022, so we figure that this will allow us to plan everything out and see how COVID-19 continues to evolve,’ the sizzling star revealed.

After fans saw Kelly ditch him at the altar on the Love Is Blind finale Kenny claimed on Instagram: ‘We made an agreement weeks prior to the wedding day that we were not getting married, let alone remain being engaged.’

However show producer Chris Colen staunchly denied as much, telling Metro.co.uk that Kenny’s claim was an attempt to ‘save face.’
