The original courtroom on the first floor has been turned into an entertaining room with a flight of stairs that led to the prison cells.

Vaulted brick ceilings and hatches where staff would have passed food through to prisoners can still be seen in the cells.

A bathroom complete with a jacuzzi bath and walk in shower are the assets attached to the judge’s master suite.

The property also boasts four receptions rooms, a large kitchen as well as an utility room on the ground floor.

Bedrooms upstairs have their own en-suite bathrooms while there is also an exotic spa room with huge jacuzzi whirlpool bath and sauna in the tower.

David Wild, from Savills, said: ‘This is a really interesting and quirky property that’s generated a lot of interest from all over the world.

‘It has been really well-kept and looked after with the owner retaining the building’s original charm.

‘The old court room in particular is amazing with the vaulted ceilings.

‘We’ve had a lot of leads but for one reason or another a few deals have fallen through on it. It’s a property with a big market though and it will certainly appeal to a lot of different people.’
