Lisa Wilkinson is known for her stylish approach to fashion.

And when it comes to the Melbourne cup, The Project host certainly had a theme in mind.

The 60-year-old wore two very similar looks to two separate Cup events, attending the GH Mumm party at Pier One in Sydney on Tuesday in a deep red dress.

On trend: At the 2020 Melbourne Cup Carnival launch in Sydney last week she had on a similar frock (pictured)

Opting for a 1940s style silhouette, the TV star donned a maroon frock with polka-dots throughout.

The dress featured sheer, puffed sleeves and a slip portion underneath, as well as an elegant ribbon portion at the neckline.

Giving it a very retro feel, the gown have a number of ruffled, layered portions and modest calf-length hemline.

A bit of drama came in the form of a rope belt, tied at the waist and featuring large, ornate tassels.

She chose a dramatic black cap with black, mesh netting across her face, and statement earrings.

Black heels and a metallic clutch completed the look, which echoed the outfit she would wear later that week in colour and shape.
