She recently revealed she had ‘no word’ on when season six of Line Of Duty would be able to resume filming.

But Vicky McClure seemed to be relishing her time off as she shared a light-hearted snapshot to Instagram on Sunday.

The actress, 37, proudly showcased her bold new look after dyeing her cropped brunette locks bleach blonde.

She posed triumphantly in a fluffy grey dressing gown while shielding her eyes in a pair of statement yellow sunglasses.

Vicky posed in the middle of a residential street with her hands placed firmly on her hips.

The DIY styling comes ahead of the re-opening of hairdressers next week after they were forced to close amid the coronavirus crisis.

Earlier this month, Vicky said that she has still had ‘no word’ on when season six of Line Of Duty will be able to resume filming.

Speaking via FaceTime on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, she said the cast had begun work on the forthcoming season of the police drama prior to the UK’s lockdown during the coronavirus crisis.

Of how far along they were in their shooting schedule, Vicky said: ‘We were about four weeks of a sixteen week shoot and you know when you’re just getting into the groove and you’re like “yeah”, and then, that was it.’

Chris then asked her when filming may resume, and she went on: ‘There is no word, I don’t know.

‘You know, I’m hearing lots about certain productions – obviously the soaps are being quite vocal about… they’re going back I think next week – so you know, there’s movement.

‘But the thing is Jed Mercurio – who writes, produces and is our showrunner – he was a doctor before he was a writer, so he’s not going to cut any corners, do you know what I mean?

‘We’re going to make sure that when we go back, it’s safe to do so, so when that day is, I don’t know.’

It comes after the Line Of Duty cast recently congregated from lockdown to once again raise awareness for charity auction Asks For Masks – this time teaming up with other TV cops for a comedy short.

Showrunner Jed tweeted video of the three main stars – Vicky, Martin and Adrian – in their respective roles of Detective Inspector Kate Fleming, Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott and Superintendent Ted Hastings, having a video conference during the coronavirus lockdown,

The skit sees Kate watching The Nest – a BBC drama from earlier this year that starred Martin – in a onesie.

Steve then logs in from his swimming pool in Vegas (which is where actor Martin really lives) as he floats around in one of his trademark waistcoats on a lilo.

‘Listen Steve, I hope that virtual background isn’t costing me an arm and a leg, son!’ Ted scolds Steve of the swimming pool and the clear blue skies.

The actors took part in the sketch to support Ask For Masks’ charity auction to raise funds to buy PPE for the NHS amid the ongoing pandemic.
