Liev Schreiber looked bruised and bloodied as he filmed the latest scenes for Across The River And Into The Trees in Venice.
The actor, 53, plays Colonel Richard Cantwell in the WW2 film, and the character had obtained some nasty facial injuries as filming continued on Wednesday.
Liev was joined by Matilda De Angelis, 25, who plays his love interest, an 18-year-old Italian contessa called Renata.

The actor was in his character’s military uniform, which comprised of a khaki coat with badges on his arm and a smart suit.
Liev later looked like he was rehearsing scenes with Matilda as the pair kept warm in the February chill by wearing blue quilted jackets over their costumes.
