Liam Gallagher reveals he once used a COMBINE HARVESTER to spy on fellow rockers The Stone Roses when Oasis were recording in the same farm-based recording studio

Liam Gallagher revealed he and his Oasis bandmates once stole a combine harvester to try and spy on The Stone Roses while they recorded new music.

The band were recording their debut album Definitely, Maybe at Rockfield Studios in South Wales at the same time as their fellow Mancunian rockers were working on new tracks, so the singer, 47, decided to snoop around.

Detailing the prank in a documentary about the recording studio in Monmouthshire, in an excerpt obtained by The Sun on Tuesday, Liam said: ‘We went to have a f******g little snoop. It was, “right what the f*** are they up to?” as they hadn’t been doing anything for three years.

‘I’m on about a proper combine harvester – ones you’ve got to get a ladder up to and it’s miles up. Off we f*****g go, crawling down the road with the big f*****g lights on.

‘It looked bonkers. We drove it in, turned the lights off and rolled out like something out of The Professionals. We could hear some f*****g bassline and drums.

Admitting they ‘got caught’ by their fellow Mancunians, Liam said the two bands enjoyed ‘a spliff and that’ before leaving, but The Stone Roses pranked them with a tractor the next day.

Last month, Liam urged his brother Noel to make friends and reunite Oasis, telling him to ‘get off the naughty step and stop sulking.’

The musician had been talking to Peter Crouch, Maya Jama and Alex Horne for an episode of Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer.

Peter said to Liam: ‘So what about your brother, are you ever gonna make up?’ to which Liam replied: ‘I’m ready to go man, love is in the air.’

Maya said: ‘Didn’t you do a tweet actually, saying about doing a performance for the NHS…’

Liam replied: ‘Yeah. I know he’s not gonna do it. So I do it to make him look f*****g as bad as…. But I’ll do it.

‘I think it’s time now man to get off the naughty step and stop sulking.’

Maya said: ‘It would be amazing if you two got back together’ and he replied: ‘It would be. Don’t know how long it would last and that but…’

Oasis fan Peter added: ‘Is Oasis, I mean – is there a chance…?’

Liam said: ‘I don’t know, you’d have to ask him mate. I told you my bags are packed. I’m ready to go man but … I think he’s uh…I don’t know what going on in his world.

‘I just wanna keep making good music – singing those Oasis songs, waiting for the little fella to come in with a box of chocolates and apologise.’
