‘Let me finish!’ Nadia Sawalha snaps at the other Loose Women during heated on-air debate about Prince William… as Kaye Adams takes swipe at the royal and his ‘umpteenth palaces’

Loose Women got catty on Thursday as the panel launched into a debate about Prince William’s climate activism.

The ladies – Jane Moore, Kaye Adams, Denise Welch and Nadia Sawahla – were discussing whether showing the prince’s recent documentary was in bad taste amid the current pandemic.

Nadia was stressing the point that it was important, and became so aggravated when Kaye – anchoring the episode – attempted to move on.

‘Let me finish this!’ She snapped, gesturing furiously.

‘People who aren’t struggling, people who live in their lap of luxury are the people that have got to carry on the fight, they aren’t fighting every day to put food on the table!’ she declared, driving home her point.

Kaye – who disagreed – got the final word, however, snapping back: ‘Well, maybe a man with umpteenth palaces isn’t exactly the person to be heading this up, I don’t know if people are going to hear it from him, we’ll see!’

Before the clash, Nadia had been saying: ‘There are going to be more pandemics, the Earth is in a terrible state, and every single person is going to have to try and do something.

‘I am ashamed of how little I do, and I think we need Prince William for the older generation, because the younger generation are very happy with Greta [Thunberg] and her message that she puts across brilliantly.

‘She has no ego, she has no other reason to do this than she is really scared for the future of her generation.’

Jane didn’t agree with this. ‘I don’t think anybody is saying the message is wrong, I think it’s just – ‘ she said, before Denise chimed in: ‘It’s something else people are going to have to take on, and it’s a lot.

Nadia argued back with: ‘But we haven’t got time to put it on ice, we haven’t got time to say, “Oh sorry we are worrying about the pandemic”, the pandemic is part of the climate crisis!’

Kaye also made the point that the timing is disadvantageous because, as well as having ‘something else to worry about’ people ‘just aren’t listening.’

Denise then offered: ‘I honestly don’t think the global story is going to impact that much though day to day…’
