Late Night With Seth Meyers will return with a home version as he lands presidential candidate Bernie Sanders as a guest
He last appeared in a full in-studio episode of his late night chat show over two weeks ago, but he ‘went back to work (ish)’ this week for new editions from home as the coronavirus pandemic rages on.
Late Night With Seth Meyers will be back on the air Monday with the host, 46, conducting an exclusive and remote interview with Vermont senator Bernie Sanders, Variety reports.
Meyers had already been taping brief segments from his show, like A Closer Look and Jokes Seth Can’t Tell, for his social media audience, but the new episodes of Late Night will combine more of Seth’s at-home segments with remote interviews as well as previously aired material.

Serving as a followup to the interview with Sanders, 78, Meyers will chat remotely with former candidate Elizabeth Warren, senator from Massachusetts, on Tuesday.
Bernie has already been a guest on Seth’s late night talk show, appearing in an episode a little over a year ago, on February 28, 2019.
Late Night last aired an original in-studio episode on March 11, but was forced to curtail further episodes due to New York City’s efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus by implementing guidelines for all nonessential business to halt.
Now, Seth returns with his NBC show just as the show that precedes his, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, has also started airing hybrid episodes.

Like the other late-night funnymen who have been forced to continue producing content from their homes, Seth has tried to make light of the inherent challenges, first taping segments of A Closer Look from the upstairs hallway of his home (which he dubbed a ‘Hallway Closer Look’).
He then changed the setup and appeared in front of a bookcase backdrop, which he joked was ‘definitely my private study and NOT a garage I’ve been relegated to’ on Instagram.
Since beginning to make the show from home, production value has also slowly gotten better, from an ‘echoey hallway sound’ last Monday to microphone, lights and the bookcase backdrop by Wednesday.

On Instagram, Meyers has a personal account as well as one dubbed ‘@latenightseth’, each of which have nearly 700,000 followers.
Meyers’ first A Closer Look video, posted a week ago, has also already racked up 4.2 million views on YouTube.
Other late night shows returning this week from the hosts’ homes include Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on CBS and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Trevor Noah, among others.
