Kyle Sandilands is left red faced after he awkwardly mispronounces the name of RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage

RuPaul’s Drag Race is officially coming to Australia and New Zealand as an eight-part Stan original series.

And on Wednesday, one of the show’s judges Michelle Visage appeared on KISS FM’s the Kyle & Jackie O Show to talk about the exciting news.

But host Kyle Sandilands was left red faced after he awkwardly mispronounced her surname.

Oops! Kyle Sandilands awkwardly mispronounced Michelle Visage’s name during an interview to promote the Australian season of RuPaul’s Drag Race

‘We’ve got one of the stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race on here.. Michelle Vagine,’ he said.

The shock jock was quickly informed the correct pronunciation by the show’s newsreader Brooklyn Ross.

However, Michelle didn’t appear to be offended as she ignored the blunder and instead enthusiastically greeted Kyle.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will begin production this week, with superstar RuPaul serving as host alongside judge Michelle.

During the radio segment, Michelle kept coy about which other celebrity will join the judging panel.

‘We’re so excited to bring it Down Under, and it’s me, it’s Ru, and that’s all you need to know right now,’ she said.

In a format similar to the U.S. version, the Stan Original series will see Australian and New Zealand queens compete for the title of Australasia’s next drag superstar.

Along the way they’ll be judged by a glittering array of celebrity guests, who will throw shade and provide feedback to the queens.

Stan will announce the contestants, and the third celebrity judge, at a later date.

The British and American versions of RuPaul’s Drag Race are available to stream on Stan in Australia.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will premiere on Stan later this year.
