Kristin Cavallari posts belated Father’s Day tribute to estranged husband Jay Cutler

She posted a sweet message to her dad on Father’s Day, but failed to mention the father of her own children as they continue to navigated their divorce.

But on Monday, reality star Kristin Cavallari said she ‘saved the best for last’ in a belated Father’s Day post to her soon-to-be-ex-husband Jay Cutler, alongside a picture showing the backs of their three young children’s heads.

‘Happy (late) Father’s Day to Jay,’ the Very Cavallari star, 33, wrote in the caption. ‘We had a beautiful day together yesterday at my new house. Modern family? Co-parenting? Whatever you want to call it, we are navigating it the best way we know how.

One day late: On Monday, Kristin Cavallari said she ‘saved the best for last’ in a belated Father’s Day post to her soon-to-be-ex-husband Jay Cutler, alongside a picture showing their three kids

‘And what I do know is, our 3 kids are lucky to have him as their daddy,’ she continued in the sweet missive. ‘Hopefully they all 3 get a smidge of that heart of gold.’

The post comes as Kristin recently completed her move out of the home she shared with football star Cutler, and also made the return to work at her office for Uncommon James.

The fact that the pair are putting on a brave face for their kids – sons Camden, seven, Jaxon, six, and daughter Saylor, four – and spent Father’s Day together is a good sign, as previously it was reported that they were only communicating through their attorneys.

On Sunday, Kristin omitted Jay from a Father’s Day post, which showed her clutching a pair of throwback pictures of herself as a tot with her dad.

Back in May, Jay shared a Mother’s Day post on his own Instagram in tribute of Kristin, however it wasn’t immediately clear whether Jay was in fact the one who posted the message.

Next to a picture showing Kristin and the kids on the beach from behind, the caption read, ‘Happy Mother’s day to all the moms. These 3 little ones picked a good one.’

While at first it appeared like a civil gesture toward his ex, his fans were quick to note that the retired football player doesn’t actually run the account, which actually has the handle: ‘IfJayHadInstagram’.

Kristin admitted in 2018 via a comment that she was behind the account, telling everyone: ‘…I think there needs to be a little clarification on Jay’s Instagram.’

‘It’s not him running it. It’s me. It’s what Jay would have if he had Instagram,’ the mother-of-three said at the time.

Fans found it odd that Kristin would continue to pretend to be her ex to pay tribute to herself on social media – weeks after their split went public.

However, Jay’s Instagram bio now reads ‘I don’t have Instagram, but if I did… and now I do.’

Moving on: Kristin's Father's Day wishes to her ex comes as she recently completed her move out of the home she shared with football star Cutler, and also made the return to work at her office for Uncommon James

And it indeed seems that Jay now runs the account, judging from more recent photos from his recent hunting trip in Montana.

Kristin and Jay were married for seven years before their split, having tied the knot in 2013.

Last month, they reached a temporary custody agreement, agreeing to split their time 50/50.
