Kristen Bell reveals how husband Dax Shepard got THAT hand injury… and admits she ‘gave up’ on homeschooling her daughter in quarantine

Dax Shepard turned stomachs last month with a grisly video of himself extracting a pin from his own broken hand.

And his wife Kristen Bell has revealed how the 45-year-old Parenthood star sustained said injury, during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old star of The Good Place said Dax broke his hand during an ‘off-roading trip’ during quarantine.

Tell all: Kristen Bell has revealed how husband Dax Shepard ‘shattered’ his hand, during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday

Kristen elaborated during her video call with the TV host: ‘He went on an essential off-roading trip right when the quarantine began and it was by himself but he was off-roading in the mountains and he had a buddy with him but they were in separate off-road vehicles and he got to an edge of a cliff’.

‘He’s very embarrassed by this injury because the cardinal rule is you don’t put your hands outside the car at any time. That’s the only chance of injury.’

The Veronica Mars actress continued, ‘He was sitting on the edge of a cliff and he put his hand up just to look out and the weight of his arm tipped the [vehicle] over. It did crush all the bones in his hands. Shattered.’

‘He didn’t call me,’ she told Ellen. ‘He drove home and the first thing he said when he walked in the door was, “I just don’t want to be in trouble.”

‘He’s never in trouble with me,’ Kristen told the talk show host.

‘I can’t get him in trouble. You’re not in trouble but it’s not the smartest move you could make.’

Bell also revealed on the show that she was no longer homeschooling her youngest daughter.

The actress, who shares daughters Lincoln and Delta with Shepard, said bluntly, ‘I gave up,’ when asked about teaching Delta, five.

‘I attempted to give her some math problems,’ explained the Michigan native. ‘And she answered the first and second one, and then she got real sassy and what she did for the rest of them was in the answer grid she just wrote, No, No, No, No [to each question]’.
