The make-up mogul previously made visits to the capital to lobby the pardon of her close friend Alice, who was serving life without parole for drug offenses.

Alice was sentenced to life in prison in 1997 for committing a first-time nonviolent drug crime in Memphis, news which Kim first heard about on Twitter.

Last month, Kim, Alice and #cut50 support Trump’s decision to cut short the sentences of drug conspiracy convicts Tynice and Crystal and white collar criminal Judith Negron.

For the past few years, the KUWTK star has been using her status to shine a light on criminal justice reform.

Earlier this year, Kim teased an upcoming documentary on the cable channel Oxygen, titled Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project.

Debuting on April 5, the two-hour film will show the TV star visiting prisons and working alongside legal experts on four cases of people they believe have been unfairly sentenced.

‘There is a mass incarceration problem in the United States. People deserve a second chance,’ she says in the clip.

At a discussion about her new film, Kim was asked how she would respond to people who may think she had attached herself to the cause in order to burnish her well-known brand.

‘I’m very used to criticism, so nothing really fazes me,’ the Los Angeles native said at the event organized by the Television Critics Association.

She added: ‘I really genuinely just stay focused on the cases and the people. I’m not doing it for publicity. I really do care.’
