And Katie Holmes brushed off any fears surrounding the coronavirus pandemic on Monday as she enjoyed a low-key outing in New York City.

Katie nailed casual chic in her off-duty look as she stepped out in the city despite Donald Trumps vow that the US would be placed in lock-down due to the virus outbreak.

The star teamed her cosy grey top with dark trousers splattered with white paint, and pulled her glossy brunette tresses into a sleek topknot.

Carrying her essentials in a black leather handbag, Katie finished her casual ensemble with simple white trainers, as she brushed off fears surrounding the virus to pick up some essentials.

Katie’s outing came after she reflected on fame, motherhood and her difficult marriage to Tom Cruise, who she divorced in 2012 after six years of marriage.

‘That time was intense. It was a lot of attention, and I had a little child on top of it,’ she told InStyle of her marriage to Cruise.

‘We had some funny moments out and about in public. So many people I didn’t know became my friends and helped us out, and that’s what I love about the city.’

Katie also recalled an emotional moment during which she was assisted by a kindly cab driver.

She said: ‘There was one incredible moment when I think I actually cried. Suri was 6 or 7, and she was spending the night at a friend’s house while I was seeing the ballet at Lincoln Center. At 10 o’clock I got a call: “Mommy, can you come get me?”‘ began Holmes.

‘I got a cab and went down to Battery Park to pick her up. She was exhausted. She fell asleep on the way home, and when we pulled up to our building, the cab driver opened the door and helped me not wake her. He helped carry her to the building. He was so kind.’
