Katherine Jenkins stuns in a black lace gown as she joins Johnny Depp at the premiere for her acting debut in Minamata at the Berlin Film Festival

She is making her acting debut in the drama Minamata.

And Katherine Jenkins ensured all eyes were on her as she arrived at the premiere for the movie at the the Berlin International Film Festival on Friday evening.

The star, 39, looked glamorous in a stunning black gown which boasted pretty lace panelling and a flowing tulle skirt.

Katherine wore her blonde tresses in elegant waves, leaving her locks to cascade down her back, while also sporting an expertly-applied coat of make-up.

Elsewhere, her co-star Johnny Depp looked quirky yet dapper in a dark brown three-piece suit which he wore with a fedora and tinted glasses.

Also in attendance was Bill Nighy, who looked sharp in a navy suit and crisp white shirt as he walked the red carpet. 

The film marks the first time Katherine has appeared on the big screen, where she  takes on the role of Millie and Bill as Robert Hayes in the drama directed by Andrew Levitas.

In the film Johnny plays war photographer W.Eugene Smith who travels to Japan to document the devastating effects of mercury poisoning in coastal communities in the 1970s.

Katherine’s appearance comes after she was unveiled to be Octopus during The Masked Singer finale on Saturday night.

Katherine disguised as Octopus finished in third place, after she delivered a stunning rendition of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from the Disney classic Mary Poppins.

Discussing her time on the show Katherine said: ‘It’s been so fun. You know, in my normal career it can be quite serious and quite static.

‘So to be able to do something where you can just literally create a new character; sing songs you would never in a million years sing – it’s been really, really fun.’ 

Berlin Film Festival runs until Sunday 1 March.
